Hi, I’m Kohila.
I'm thrilled to offer you free access to the 'Getting IT Together' Parenting Summit. I am confident that you will find this an informative and valuable experience.
What prompted this series was the closure of our schools during the COVID-19 lockdown. We were all affected.
As a parent, math coach, and former teacher, I hear resounding global conversations about the state of education. I know there are parents with many concerns and unanswered questions.
So, I created this summit with one goal:
1. To raise awareness about the diverse possibilities and strategies for teaching our kids
2. To help parents like you make informed decisions about your children's education and wellbeing.
For many of us, this is overwhelming.
Here, you'll discover valuable strategies, actionable advice, proven results, and new options for a healthier, happier life for you and your family.
To Your Family's Optimal Success,
Kohila
Humaira Badr
"I just wanted to deeply thank Kohila and all the wonderful speakers. This summit couldn’t be more timely! It’s amazing that the topics covered different aspects of life from nutrition and mental health to screening for online safety etc. An alternative to traditional schooling was a scary topic for me. One thing this summit has done for sure is to eliminate all the negative beliefs I had around homeschooling and it left me feeling at ease about the topic. I also have a clear understanding of what is homeschooling and unschooling. Speakers also shared great resources. A sincere thanks to Kohila and all the knowledgeable/resourceful/experienced speakers."
Krisna Guyton
"Thank you Kohila Sivas for putting this amazing event together. I came in as a guest to share my experience as it relates to time management and took away so much more. Prior to this event, I had no idea that there were so many ways to educate your children or that I would even consider seriously switching to a complete homeschooling routine as stated during my interview with you. Now with this new-found knowledge and with my family on board, we are looking into alternative options that would not have been possible without the information provided during the summit. So again thank you very much to you and all the amazing speakers."
Jamie Konopik
"I’m absolutely LOVING the Summit! It’s teaching me SO much and I can’t wait to learn more as I jump into this homeschooling circle."-
Stephanie Alice
"This summit has provided me with so much useful information while making me so much more relaxed. Thank you so much for introducing me to many tools."
Mary Kolendar
"I learned from this summit that it doesn't hurt to try! I want to homeschool but I don't want to screw up my children. I know it is not bad if it does not work out for all 4. They can go back to traditional school if necessary."
Stephanie Alice
"Gina Riley, You put many things into perspective for me today and I left me feeling much more confident in myself and my ability to teach my children. I can’t thank you enough."
Gina Riley, Ph.D.

She executed the summit to perfection! It was a great experience!
Jamie Shepherd
The "Getting It Together Summit" had such a large group of diverse speakers! So much homeschooling experience in one place. I loved the FB group and having an opportunity to connect and chat with people who have been homeschooling for a long time or who were bringing fresh new ideas to the table. Thanks, Kohila for this huge labor of love! What a blessing for families!

Marcina is an ordinary mom with ordinary children, ranging in age from 21 down to five. She has homeschooled them for over 12 years and recently started Love is Homegrown to give parents the tools, resources, support, and encouragement for facilitating heart-based learning at home. Especially important to her is sharing the mindset that parents are the curators of their children’s education, the resource facilitators and mentors. We do not have to do it all or know it all, we simply gather the resources needed to meet each child where they are, come alongside them, and help them move forward. Marcina believes that every child is unique and has their own challenges and talents, their own path. They come with a natural desire for learning, a delight in discovery. She believes our job as parents is not to cram facts in our children's heads, our work is to nurture their hearts, gather resources and tools, provide an environment for growth, allowing them to own their education so they can be life-long learners. At least that's the goal anyway, though the reality can seem to fall short some days. With three children already graduated, Marcina has learned for herself that if we have the right mindset, keep trying, are patient with ourselves and our children, and ask for help when needed, things will turn out alright.

With a degree in Art & Design, and a background in communications, Deirdre's appreciation of lateral thinking and finding creative solutions has led her to collaborate with many experienced educators, specialists, and homeschoolers to create a support system for parents who know in their hearts that the mainstream education environment is not the right one for their child and helping them to make a confident, sustainable start towards the delivery of meaningful and fulfilling learning opportunities.

Kohila Sivas is a coach for struggling math students. Her math journey started at 14 years old, when as a struggling math student herself, she made up her mind to learn it, and get good at it. Solving math questions became therapeutical to her, as she 'hacked' the questions for simplification. Soon, her mission became clear: help others who struggle and hate math. Over the past 20 years, she has worked in various roles as a teacher assistant, tutor, and teacher. Over this time she quickly realized that she needed a holistic way to help her student. So she developed two unique formulas: MathCodes and Success Codes. As a Math Coach, she combines these two formulas into one powerful system which helps struggling math students transform their mindsets and marks. This system was developed for struggling students and was refined by working with struggling students. Now she is reaching a wider audience, training other tutors and teachers on the MathCodes system to reach thousands of more students. On the life side, she loves to laugh, make life easy, and enjoy life to the fullest with her family and friends.
